Songs, links, and books I’ve enjoyed in 2020
2020 was a pretty bleak year. I don’t think there’s any way to sugarcoat that. My memories are often connected to the media I was enjoying at the time. And in a year where time has passed so weirdly, even making this year end list has helped me piece together what exactly has happened this year.
Here’s a collection of my favorite songs, links, and books from this year.
Avalon Emerson — Long-Forgotten Fairytale
Planet 1999 — Party
1-800 GIRLS — Corners
default genders — checking in with the old gang (ash nerve remix)
Lil Uzi Vert — Myron
bladee — Noblest Strive
A.G. Cook — Silver
21 Savage & Metro Boomin (ft. Drake) — Mr. Right Now
Jessy Lanza — All The Time
bladee & Ecco2k — Girls Just Want To Have Fun
Charli XCX — 7 years
bladee & Mechatok — Sun
ari solus — east bay prince
Shinichi Atobe — Yes
Father — Risotto
The requirement to make it in to this list is simply that I bookmarked it in 2020. Some of this stuff is older than 2020.
There’s a lot of good stuff I read this year that isn’t on this list, so maybe this list is more representative of my ability to remember to bookmark things.

Admittedly, I read the internet a lot more than I read books! Here’s a short list of books from this year.
- Uncanny Valley by Anna Weiner
- Relentless Pursuit by Bradley Edwards
- Index Cards: Selected Essays by Moyra Davey
- Abbott Awaits by Chris Bachelder
Here’s hoping that 2021 is a better year for everyone. If you’re able to, I recommend donating to a charity. I’ve personally donated to Oxfam America and Trans Lifeline. Wishing everyone a safe and happy Christmas and holiday season.
